Oh, I had such fun with last night's scrapinar on 6x6 paper pads! At one point there were over 300 attendees. I couldn't believe it! I was honored to be asked to do this and even more so that so many scrapbookers attended. Thanks to Lain Ehmann for hosting these and thanks to all of you who signed up! (If you signed up, Lain will e-mail you the replay info in the next couple of days.)
I'll be posting several layouts from the webinar over the next few days and have process videos on some of the pages so be sure to stay tuned. I also had requests to put them on Pinterest as well.
In the meantime, I have this page I made from an idea from another Scrapinar by Monica Bradford. This page is for my stepdaughter's album. So the title makes more sense from her perspective. She is pictured with her sister and their boys.
I got the technique for the Washi chevron from Washi WooHoo Two Scrapinar replay. This event was held a month or so ago and a replay is now available for purchase for $7. Monica Bradford shares 3 ideas for Washi storage - always a popular topic - and lots of way so use Washi from framing photos, to creating embellishments to creating your own Washi tape. I love the Washi chevron technique and also how she did her own Ombre effect - something else I've got to try. The video is over 30 minutes.

To get my chevron started, I used some squares cut from scrap cardstock turned on point as a guide for the first row. After that, I just lined up each strip by the other. It was a fun way to get a colorful border.
The "memo" journaling spot is stamped. I left it blank so she can fill in her own memories of the day.
Beside this photo, I have some of those little mini journaling cards I mentioned in last night's Scrapinar. They are cut from Webster's Pages and a Simple Stories 6x6 pad.

ReplyDeleteI enjoyed the webinar last night about using 6x6 paper pads. I like the 6x6 version of the busier patterned papers because they're not overwhelming.
ReplyDeleteI used to live in Asheville and next month, my family and I will be spending a week there, visiting the Biltmore, Chimney Rock, Dupont forest, etc. We're hoping to get away from the heat in Alabama.
