Recently I closed my window treatment workroom after 16 years of designing and creating draperies, valances, shades and all types of window treatments. I spent 17 years in corporate America mostly working in Information Technology and training. For several years, I was teaching computer classes, supervisory training, customer service skills and other corporate classes for more than 100 days a year. I traveled a lot and worked with many corporations on our area. There was some overlap in these career paths as I started making window treatments a few years before I left the corporate life.
My husband and I live with one cat in the foothills of North Carolina. He is from Missouri; I've lived here all my life. We enjoy traveling and searching for the perfect place to retire. Lenny, the pinball repair man is supposed to be retired already, yet is busy as he wants to be. With both of us at home, we spend a lot of time together and love every minute. (OK, almost every minute. :-) You'll see a lot of those minutes both at home and traveling in my scrapbook pages.
For my pages, I like everything on my page to tell the story. In 2013, I'm committing to doing at least one page per week that is video taped and uploaded to YouTube. I'm including a sketch and some tips in a PDF on my blog. Many of these will be for Project Life or Project 365.
For my version of Project 365, we are taking at least one photo each day and I scrapbook these in a traditional layout. I did this in 2010. It is interesting to see what is similar and what has changed in these last 3 years.
I made my first scrapbook in 1991 doing some pages annually until a friend introduced me to Creative Memories 10 years later. Since then, the hobby has become my passion as I've discovered more and more wonderful resources. Another friend invited me to a Stampin' Up! event about 5 years ago and that got me hooked on stamps. I love to create cards as well as pages. Lately I'm branching out into some home decor and long to do more some 'artsy' type projects.
I love this marvelous hobby with its never ending opportunities to be creative and to capture our memories for ourselves and our families.
Thank you for visiting my blog! I hope you find inspiration and useful information here.
